tom lewis
Born in 1979, tom lewis studied fine art at middlesex university where he, amongst other things, forged a magical sword, invented a mythological 18th century French philosopher and searched truth using language and codes...
His paintings, usually abstract landscapes, are based on overhead snippets of conversation, layers of information, urban texture, subtly of mood and invented narrative. colour and light play an important part in the finished piece.
This 'analogue' work is occasionally influenced by his digital work, which uses usually humorous (well at least to tom) characters that show glimpses into the 'other' world that exists to some extent in most of us, albeit with different monsters!
